IV Therapy
IV fluids and medicine for dehydration, stomach upsets, hangover and fever, after a doctor's assessment.
IV therapy can help you recover when you are dehydrated or too unwell to keep fluids down. Every treatment starts with a doctor's assessment. The doctor then recommends the package that suits your condition, or oral treatment if you do not need a drip. A nurse monitors you throughout the infusion and for 30 minutes afterwards. IV therapy is for adults aged 18 and over.
What to expect
- Doctor's assessment first, every time
- Monitored by a nurse during and after the drip
- Five packages, with levels depending on the package
IV therapy is a medical treatment and is only given when your doctor finds it suitable. Many mild cases recover well with oral fluids and medicine, and your doctor will tell you if that is the better option. Not suitable for children under 18; extra caution applies in pregnancy and heart or kidney disease.
